Nero Premium is a comprehensive burning solution that comprises all the tools you would ever need to burn a disc safely, but also a bunch of other utilities to help you in this regard.
Nero Premium however promises to do just more than burning your data on a disc. It pledges to work with audio and video files in a way it never did before.
Installation shouldn't take too much time if you know exactly what you need from this software. And we should probably emphasize the term “if”, because Nero Premium is just full of unnecessary tools that do nothing more than to take the final price of the whole pack to a new milestone.
The installation process is often confusing, mostly due to the fact that Nero 7 Premium has so many tools comprised in a single package that you don't even know which are and which are not the things you need. We knew exactly what to try so it took only a few seconds to get past this screen.
Although Nero remains a convenient tool to burn your data on CDs and DVDs, this version also includes a bunch of other utilities, often considered unnecessary, such as WaveEditor, SoundTrax, Nero Vision and even PhotoSnap.
Sure, each of these is useful and efficient in its very own way but together with the burning software it actually assaults the user with too much information. Plus, with all features installed, it could take up to 1GB of storage space, which isn't exactly a thing to be praised for. Not to mention the necessary space in case you plan to store temporary DVD files: up to 9 GB!
The burning function however remains one of the most efficient in the whole crowd, although there are a lot of users complaining about errors received during the burning process. We had no problem though and everything worked just fine.
It's difficult to name just a single great thing about Nero, but if we really need to pick one, we surely have to go for the burning tool. It remains an undisputed leader in the segment, despite competition coming from freeware solutions. As for the “cons side”, Nero is losing ground not only because of its unnecessary tools included in the package, but also because it is a bit pricey.
